Katherine’s food adventure started from the heart of her hometown, San Francisco, where the freshest ingredients were the “only” choice on the dinner menu. Born in Hong Kong, the birthplace of “Dim Sum (to touch the heart)”, by the age of 12, Katherine helped host and cook her Mother’s Saturday night “Mah Jong” dinner parties. Over the years, Katherine created cutting edge dishes and the common response repeatedly heard was “That’s Outrageous,” thus the name for “Outrageous Gourmet” was born.

throughout the country as National Training Manager for several Fortune
500 company and dined out frequently, absorbing the diverse flavors
spanning our culturally rich nation. As Vice President of Sales for a
medical equipment company that she co-founded, she lived in New England
where she had her first unofficial taste for catering hosting a large
political fundraiser. To escape the sub-zero winters of New England,
Katherine vacationed in Hawaii every winter, not only to absorb the
sunshine in paradise, but also the exotic and rich flavors of the
Pacific Rim Cuisine. Longing for Hawaii's sunny blue skies and warm
weather, Katherine ventured to the Big Island in 1999 and made
Kailua-Kona, Hawaii her home.
